报告摘要/Abstract

The newly developed g/g¢ Co-base superalloys are promising high temperature materials for future generation of advanced turbine engines. The understanding of creep response to the volume fraction of g¢ precipitates and underlying deformation mechanism is fundamental for the development of high-strength Co-base superalloys. In this talk, the creep behavior at 950°C and compressive stress of 50-350MPa will be shown in a series of single-crystal Co-Al-W-Ta superalloys with different levels of g¢ volume fractions. Designed from the γ/g¢ tie line, the microstructures containing 0-60% g¢ volume fractions are produced, although additional phases are found in superalloys supposed to have higher g¢ volume fractions. The creep strength increases with increasing g¢ volume fraction, and the additional intermetallic precipitates reduce the creep strength to different extents. In contrast to the commonly observed creep behavior with single creep rate minimum, double minimum creep is detected under low creep stresses. Additional emphasis is placed on this creep performance, and the deformation mechanism regarding directional coarsening and shearing of g¢ precipitates at different strains will be presented.

作者简介/Speaker’s short biography

Dr. Fei Xue is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany. After he graduated with a B.S. from the Northereast University, he studied on alloying effects for the development of Co-base superalloys with Prof. Qiang Feng at State Key Laboratory for Advanced Metals and Materials (SKLAMM), the University of Science & Technology Beijing (USTB), and completed his Ph.D. in 2015. He later continued his research on Co-base superalloys with an emphasis on the mechanical performance in the high temperature materials group with Dr. Steffen Neumeier and Prof. Mathais Göken at the FAU. Dr. Xue research interest focuses on the composition, microstructure and mechanical properties of high temperature structural materials. He authored 13 peer-reviewed journals and proceeding articles in the field of materials science and 1 grant patent.
